казначейский вексель
Переводной вексель (bill of exchange), выпущенный Банком Англии от имени британского государства, который погашается через три месяца. Эти векселя еженедельно выпускаются с номиналом 5000 и 100 000 ф. ст. и размещаются на торгах среди учетных домов (discount houses). Они не приносят процента, а доход по ним образуется за счет разницы между ценой их покупки и стоимостью погашения. Американское министерство финансов также выпускает казначейские векселя.

Краткосрочные государственные обязательства (в США и некоторых других странах) со сроком погашения 3, 6 и 12 месяцев; выпускаются государством для покрытия своих расходов. В России аналогом К.в. выступают Государственные краткосрочные обязательства, ГКО (см.).
